Please help identify this couple

We do have some clues to help identify this young couple. This picture was included in the Haight family pictures. The Haights lived in New York State. The stamp on the back is dated 1865. This could mean the young man may have been in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Some of the sir names in the Haight family are: Beeman, Crane, Fowler, Snow, Carpenter and Layton.
